Research has shown that living with pets provides certain health benefits.  Pets help lower blood pressure and lessen anxiety.   They boost our immunity.  They can even help you to be more social.

Any kind of pet is company for the owner, but having an animal such as a cat or dog is even more beneficial.  Cats and dogs are affectionate animals and just their happiness to see you is enough to left your spirits.   Dogs will also provide extra exercise if you take them out for walks, which is good to do on a regular basis.
